 
Harlan Baker will give a performance of his one-man show about the life of a labor activist in the early part of the 20 Century at the Acorn Studios - Dana Warp Mill in Westbrook. The event is a fundraiser for improvements to the new Acorn Studio Theater.
The one man play, JIMMY HIGGINS, recounts several episodes in the life of a fictional rank and file labor activist from 1918 to 1940.
Jimmy Higgins is the legendary labor and socialist rank and file activist often cited as the person responsible for the day to day tasks in political and labor organizing.
Jimmy Higgins meets Eugene Debs after his historic anti-war speech in Canton, Ohio, is caught in the Cleveland May Day riot of 1919, works for "Fighting Bob" Lafollete in his historic 1924 presidential election campaign, becomes a reporter and member of the Newspaper Guild and covers the organization of tenant farmers in the south and auto workers in the north.
