YOUNG ACTORS SHAKESPEARE CONSERVATORY

directed by Karen Ball and Michael Levine

part of the Naked Shakespeare series

The mission of Acorn's Shakespeare Ensemble is to encourage audiences to re-experience Shakespeare's language and imagery . The "Naked Shakespeare" series showcases the Bard's text through performances presented without sets, lights and costumes, allowing the audience's imagination to take center stage.

A seven-month training program in Shakespearean verse for teen actors wishing to broaden their acting range to work with classical language

Members of the Young Actors Shakespeare Conversatory work with Acorn's Producing Director and Assistant Director of Training to learn how to strengthen their voices and breathe life in to the rich imagery of Shakespeare's language. The program culminates with a showcase performance at a theater in Portland consisting of scenes and soliloquies from well-known Shakespeare plays. A great immersion for teens wishing to deepen their acting skills through working with heightened language. Enrollment limited to 12 participants.
