YOUNG ACTORS SHAKESPEARE CONSERVATORY

directed by Karen Ball

our fifth year of training teen actors to work with classical language - part of the Naked Shakespeare series

The mission of Acorn's Shakespeare Ensemble is to encourage audiences to re-experience Shakespeare's language and imagery . The "Naked Shakespeare" series showcases the Bard's text through performances presented without sets, lights and costumes, allowing the audience's imagination to take center stage.

A seven-month training program in Shakespearean verse for student actors wishing to broaden their acting range by working intensively on heightened language.

Members of the Young Actors Shakespeare Conversatory learn how to strengthen their voices and breathe life in to the rich imagery of Shakespeare's verse. The emphasis throughout the program is on personal artistic growth through process work. YASC culminates with a showcase performance at a public venue consisting of an adaptation of a full-length Shakespeare play or scenes connected by thematic elements. YASC offers great immersion for teens wishing to deepen their acting skills and meet other area actors who share their passions and interests. Enrollment limited to 12 participants.
