The tuition rates for classes already in session have been pro-rated to reflect the missed class. Classes are listed by age with the youngest at the top and the teen classes at the bottom of the page.

VOICE AND MOVEMENT FOR THE YOUNG PERFORMER

(grades 2 - 12)

Saturday, April 13 from 2 to 4 p.m.

taught by Pamela Chabora, Ph.D.

A workshop exploring the basics of voice training for the young performer. We will address posture, breath, projection, articulation, and vocal expressiveness in this “nuts and bolts” performance workshop. This participatory workshop will introduce young people to some basic exercises and techniques developed by several innovators in voice/movement. Actors of all experience level welcome!

CONTINUING ACTING

(grades 2 - 5)

Mondays from 4 to 5 p.m. (began 4/1 - 7 sessions left)
taught by Pamela Chabora, Ph.D.

This class is designed to explore the six basic steps of acting to the student actor. Class sessions will begin with a discussion of the P.O.C. (Point of Concentration or topic) of the day, followed by related warm-ups, exercises, and theatre games to expand the actor’s understanding of that aspect of the art and craft of acting.

PERFORMANCE LAB:
WINNIE THE POOH BIRTHDAY TAIL
(grades 3 - 7)

Tuesdays from 4 to 6 p.m. (begins 4/16 - 4 weeks only)

Students bring to life a story that begins when a very special friend-and-felation tells Christopher Robin the story of a Birthday Eve long ago. When Eeyore, the old gray donkey, lost his tail, Winnie the Pooh and Piglet got all of their friends (Owl, Kanga & Roo, Tigger) from the Hundred Acre Wood together to search for it. The class ends with a public performance in the Acorn Studio Theater.

CONTINUING ACTING

(grades 4 - 8)

Wednesdays from 4 to 5 p.m. (begins 4/10)
taught by Michael Levine

Students in this class will continue to refine their acting craft through a series of theater exercises and short scenes. The focus will be on expanding each actor's stage presence by focusing on clear articulation and volume, as well as an awareness of how to listen and respond to the other actors on stage. Some experience on stage on in a previous class is requested of all students.

IMPROVISATION
(grades 6 - 10)

Wednesdays from 5 to 6 p.m. (began 4/3 - 7 sessions left)

Laugh until your sides hurt in this class that is almost too much fun. Students will learn and perfect several popular improv comedy forms in order to think better on their feet. Beginners and continuing students welcome.

TEEN ACTING
(ages 13 and up)

A class for students who are serious about learning the craft of acting. Students will work on audition monologues, short scenes, and exercises designed to increase their bility to make strong choices on stage.
